Travel Tuesday: New York City

Travel Tuesdays: where I can look fondly at wonderful places, people and journeys while we prepare for the exciting adventure ahead…
A quick one this week as we are on the road (oh the delights of Kent and Sussex!)
… and an important one I think, because this is a vintage postcard from somewhere I have never been.
Our wall of wonders is a reflection of past adventures, sure, but it is also aspirational.
Neither of us has ever been to New York. Other than DC and South Carolina, I’ve never been on the eastern seaboard at all.
It’s somewhere Bean and I will travel someday, partly out of curiosity and traditional tourist enthusiasm, but partly because (despite its distance) it continues to be a part of our world.
Old friends have moved there and I am curious to meet their new lives.
New friends I’ve met fleetingly in far flung places call it home, and I long to greet them somewhere they find familiar.
It’s a place populated entirely by television drama and black and white movies in my mind, and I can’t wait for a Big Apple adventure of our own.
So today, after a weekend of retrospective glances and milestone birthdays, we look forward to bright beginnings and set our sights on Lady Liberty.
And if I can cruise Fifth Avenue in a hat like that, so much the better
Happy Days!
I’m really enjoying the design and layout of your site. It’s
a very easy on the eyes which makes it much more enjoyable for me
to come here and visit more often. Did you hire out a developer to create your theme?
Fantastic work!
