Perhaps Hydroponic Replanting would be more accurate (but less fun).

I plonked the husky ends of some romaine hearts into small bowls of water yesterday and ceremoniously dumped them on the kitchen windowsill.

As if by magic, and in accordance with the advice of the good people at Food52, today they have already started to show new sprouts.

Could have been compost, by next weekend they’ll be lunch.

Spring onions in shot glasses, here I come!
