I won’t be writing much this week.
Summer’s cultural season is at full tilt (despite the inclement weather), so I’ll mostly be on the road.
In case you’d like to get on board with some of Edinburgh’s exciting offering, here’s a selection of activities to try:

Leith Festival
This gem runs all week, with events for families as well as classes and meet-ups, it’s got a little something for everyone.

Science on a Summer’s Evening
An Edinburgh University annual tradition, in honour if its preeminent graduates. Hands-on science demonstrations for grown-ups, discussions of dark matter and a jazz interlude. What more could a gal ask for?

Under the Stars
Part of the Edinburgh International Film Festival, this series of free outdoor screenings is once again underwritten by Essential Edinburgh and will be held Thursday to Sunday in St Andrew’s Square.
The line up includes previous festival premieres such as Back to the Future and Toy Story 3, along with some cult and retro favourites. The full line up can be found here.

London 2012 Arrives
The Olympic torch is making it’s way ’round the country.
Wednesday it snakes from St. Andrews to Edinburgh, and Thursday morning it heads down Lothian Road and then away down south. There will be a special concert event at Edinburgh Castle Wednesday evening to celebrate.
A ist of activities and acts can be found on the ever helpful Edinburgh Reporter.
That’s all for now. Hope to see you out there!
